Strategi Budaya Maritim Suku Mandar Dalam Mendorong Indonesia Sebagai Poros Maritim Dunia

This research aims to look at the strategies developed by the Mandar tribe in developing maritime culture in West Sulawesi. In concept Indonesia as the world's maritime axis, one of which focuses on maritime culture. The problem to be researched is how maritime cultural strategies are Mandar tribe in maintaining its existence and life so that supports Indonesia's ideals as the world's maritime axis. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Research data used is secondary data. Data collection was carried out by collect books, journals and reference sources from various online media. The research found that there are three maritime cultural strategies in the Mandar tribe, namely 1) Education and awareness among the public regarding the importance of the sector maritime affairs in the life of the Indonesian people through the manufacture of sandeq boats which is still ongoing today and in the future needs to be encouraged in the local content of learning in schools;
Preserving cultural values, maritime insight, revitalizing customary law and local wisdom in the maritime sector through the Sandeq Race Festival; and (3) Protect and socialize underwater cultural heritage through preservation, restoration and conservation efforts through the tradition of FADs as a fishing tool. The conclusion of the research is that Indonesia's maritime cultural strategies are very diverse, one of which is developed by the Mandar Tribe. The tradition of preserving sandeq boats and FADs can be become the value of local wisdom of the Indonesian people in supporting the ideals of making Indonesia the world's maritime axis.
