Implikasi Konflik Antara Amerika Serikat-Inggris Dengan Kelompok Houthi (Yaman) Di Laut Merah Dikaitkan Dengan Situasi Geopolitik Dunia Secara Umum Serta Dampaknya Bagi Indonesia

Blockade of the Red Sea by the Houthi, American and British attacks on YemenAbstract
The conflict between the United States-Britain and The Houthi (Yemen) has been going on for more than 2 months. The Houthi unilaterally carried out a blockade on ships flying the flags of certain countries that were deemed to support Israel's efforts to declare war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip (Palestine). The UN Security Council, on the initiative of America, supported by Britain, condemned what The Houthi was doing because it was disturbing and threatening maritime security in the Red Sea. Under this pretext, America and Britain made military efforts against Yemen which increasingly heated up the situation in the Red Sea. Conditions in the Red Sea have increased operational transportation costs due to shipping routes currently having to detour to the Cape of Good Hope (South of the African Continent) for security reasons. The increase in operational costs automatically affects the global economy because the Red Sea is one of the choke points for world trade. The impact of this situation is also felt by economic actors from Indonesia who utilize sea trade routes. Apart from the economic impact, geopolitically, this conflict situation has made many countries see (depending on their respective points of view of course) how America and England are so firm in their support for Israel in the Gaza Strip.Â
