Abstract

China's growing influence in the Asia Pacific region has led to the US intention to shift its attention from the Middle East to the Asia Pacific region to stop China's growing influence in the region. This resulted in the US starting to feel threatened by the credibility of its influence in the region. The form of descriptive analysis will be broken down and analyzed how the US-China rivalry model occurs. Beginning with an analysis of the reasons for returning US attention from the Middle East to the Asia Pacific region, how the strategy forms between the two in building influence and efforts to increase alliances also specifically analyzes how the Belt and Road initiative was initiated by China. US-China tensions have a geographic center of gravity in the Indo-Pacific region, not Europe, as the center of global trade has shifted from the Atlantic to the Pacific, reflecting the emergence of Asia and the fading of Europe. The US is rebalancing, adding allies in the Asia Pacific region, offering defense strengthening programs, and requesting exclusive access to island nations in the Pacific Ocean, so that the US military has access to land, sea and air routes in the region. China through the BRI program strategy with economic power builds transportation supporting infrastructure in areas that are transportation routes for energy and natural resources that will be brought to China.
