Abstract

Maritime territorial boundaries are an integral part of a nation. As an archipelagic country, Indonesia always makes efforts to enforce its territorial boundaries to ensure the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia. Various bilateral/trilateral negotiations were carried out by Indonesia with neighboring countries bordering territorial waters based on international 
legal rules (UNCLOS 1982) to achieve this. To date, 18 negotiations have been carried out and this has begun to map the Indonesian seas where the Indonesian Navy as the main maritime defense guard is responsible for it. With there still being disagreements with 
neighboring countries regarding maritime boundaries in several areas, the Indonesian Navy must continue to strive to improve its capabilities and develop itself. This is a priority for Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali Chief of the Indonesian Navy (KSAL) to ensure the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia
