Abstract

The maritime industry is increasingly dependent on TIK for aspects such as navigation, communication and decision making. Maritime literacy is essential for the safe and efficient operation of ships and other maritime assets. TIK facilitates access to information and decision- making, having a positive impact on maritime literacy. The impact of TIK on maritime literacy can be seen in several ways, such as facilitating access to information through maritime charts and maps, providing more effective maritime training and education, as well as supporting maritime operations and preventing maritime accidents. However, there are challenges that must be overcome, including the high cost of TIK and the complexity of their use. On the other hand, opportunities related to the use of TIK in maritime education and training include broader training, more flexible learning, improved training quality and reduced costs. TIK have a positive impact on maritime literacy by facilitating information access and decision making. Challenges such as cost and complexity must be overcome to fully exploit the potential of TIK in maritime education and training. The opportunities are greater than the challenges, and TIK is expected to continue to play an important role in the maritime industry in the future
