PC-40 Pari and Dorang Class, State Sovereignty at SeaAbstract
State sovereignty at sea is an inseparable part of state sovereignty in general, where the
Indonesian Navy is the main component responsible for it. In order to strengthen its
capabilities in this field, the Indonesian Navy is developing its strengths, including by building
various Fast Patrol Ships (PC) that prioritize the Increased Use of Domestic Products (P3DN)
in their production process. This is important for the independence and sustainability of
national security and defense enforcement activities at sea without having to depend on and
be influenced by other countries that produce ships of the type in question. The PC-40 is one
of the types that is produced in large numbers to strengthen patrol capabilities between
regions throughout the archipelago. Currently, at least 19 elements of the KRI PC-40 Pari and
Dorang Class have been successfully produced by various national shipyards, which are
distributed to various patrol units under the auspices of the Indonesian Navy Main Base
(Lantamal), and there are an important component of the Indonesian Navy in upholding the
state at sea.
