Abstract

The geostrategic dynamics and threats in the North Natuna Sea are crucial for the State of Indonesia. The issue of maritime boundaries in Indonesia, which directly borders the maritime areas of other countries, has increased with China's claim of the Ten Dash Line. The claim to the area in question generally refers to UNCLOS 1982 and intersects with Indonesia's EEZ. The research was conducted using a mixed method approach with expert sources in the field of foreign relations and cooperation, academic experts, and practitioners from the border areas in the North Natuna Sea. From the PEST analysis, the biggest threat from China to Indonesia is the threat of technology and economy. Based on observations of maritime threats in the field, territorial violations and transnational crime have become a concern for Indonesia.
