Makna Penting Batas Wilayah Perairan Bagi Kedaulatan Sebuah Negara

Abstract

The boundaries of a country, including in the sea, have an important value for the sovereignty 
of the nation itself. History records how disputes due to differences in perspective have 
resulted in loss of life, including in the Yellow Sea, part of which is the boundary between 
North Korea and South Korea. Through qualitative methods, research was conducted on the 
importance of territorial boundaries for the sovereignty of a country. Indonesia itself still has 
homework on this matter. The conclusion drawn from this study is that the determination of 
territorial boundaries between countries that are clear, fair, and internationally recognized 
according to UNCLOS 82 which has been ratified by many countries in the world is very 
important for maintaining stability and security.
