The Frigate Brawijaya Class holds strategic value for the enforcement of state sovereignty at sea. This vessel, which is part of the Frigate European Multi-Mission (FREMM) family, has just joined the Escort Squadron of the II Fleet on September 10,
2025. In this research, the researcher conducted a comparison with frigates owned by countries in the Southeast Asian and Southwest Pacific regions. The research method used is a SWOT analysis to compare the aspects of combat capability, modernity, range, and self-defense systems of KRI Brawijaya-320 and other frigates in the region. The results show that the Mogami frigate from Australia has the highest superiority among the compared vessels, while KRI Brawijaya-320 shows good potential with modern
technology and solid combat capability, although it still has limitations in range. Efforts to improve the capabilities and modernization of these vessels will be very important for each country in facing the challenges of maritime security in the region.
